The Quiet Order Is Released! (Contest Below)

Welcome to October 28^th, 2025. I am formally announcing that this is the launch day for my Science Fiction/Time Travel Novel:

THE QUIET ORDER

People have asked me what this book is about. I will let one of my characters in the book (Jackson Tatum) describe it for me:

“Time travel, history, advanced technology, secret orders, spy stuff, and some detective work. Sounds like one sweet adventure.”

A little back-history here. The Quiet Order was the first novel that I ever penned. From the moment I opened my word processor, I envisioned a six-book series. Little did I know it would take many twists and turns along the path to publishing this story.

I’m so excited to share this epic adventure with you. Unlike some other rather famous authors, I am happy to share with you that all six books are already written. I plan to release one every three to four months.

SO REJECTED!

This book has been submitted to many agents (over 100), and all have turned it down. I have an article on here about that process:

I know what you are thinking… umm Doug… why are you telling me this? This doesn’t make me want to read your book.

I’m telling you this because I believe this book shines partly because of the fire it went through. I never stopped honing it, and with each criticism and humiliating rejection, I kept improving the offering.

This book is now over four years old.

CONTEST TIME

It seems fitting that in honor of the maiden voyage of The Quiet Order, I have a small contest. I’d love you to sign up for my newsletter, but for those who have already signed up, they know I don’t send them out very often. So that isn’t a requirement to enter the contest. Here are the rules, though:

The entry deadline is 5:00 PM EST on November 30^th, 2025. And the winners will be announced by December 15^th.
You must be 18 or older to enter the contest.
You must live in the continental United States or Canada (Sorry, mailing beyond there is costly).
Please limit yourself to one entry per person.
For the love of all that is good, please don’t use AI.
Please, no vulgar, racist, krass, or political answers.
Please limit your answers to one paragraph of 100 words or fewer.

The prize for this contest?

I will award three individuals with a personally signed copy of The Quiet Order. I will contact the winners by email to obtain their mailing addresses. Then I will post an article listing all the winners, their answers, and possibly some honorable mentions.

Only me… Sorry, but that’s all I can afford.
